Thursday was Rodeo Day at preschool. We arrived shortly after lunch to witness stick horse races and hear camp fire songs. There was also a fashion show to model denim Texas vests.
Here we are, doing the Lone Star Dash.....filling our cowboy hat with yellow stars.
This was the boot scoot shuffle. They had to race down and back wearing men's cowboy boots.
The stick horses turned out super cute. Their teacher worked on them for weeks. He is made out of a paper grocery sack and yarn, so I'm slightly concerned for his longevity. I'm not entirely certain he is up to the rigors of being looooooved in this house!
We found this little bandana dress at Walmart for only $5. Perfect for the occasion, and it was 85 degrees the day we bought it. Of course, it was 40 degrees the morning of rodeo day, so she had to wear leggings and long sleeves under her sundress.
My favorite part was hearing them sing TEXAS to the tune of B-I-N-G-O.
There is a state I love the best
And Texas is it's name-O
T-E-X-A-S
T-E-X-A-S
T-E-X-A-S, and Texas is its name-O!
The kids in Tennessee teased Hannah that only in Texas do we rewrite songs to boast about our state. Maybe true. But when you live in such a great state........
The little patch of bluebonnets in our alley is still going strong. They just make my day.
HOWDY from Rodeo Day!
