We Needed A Day In Park Gear

Today we visited a fantastic park in a historic part of town with huge, established trees and old fashioned playground equipment. We met up with my friend, Erin, and her son, Brad. Erin arrived at the park empty handed, with one child. Meanwhile, it took me twelve minutes to unload a cooler with drinks and snacks, the diaper bag, my camera case, Emma's plastic "treasure" bucket, and three kids from my van. I teased her about being too unfettered as I stumbled onto the playground like a pack mule. She just grinned at me and said...."Gee, I didn't know we were camping!"

The boys wasted no time scampering into a tree. I love how the third kid in a row is eight feet off the ground before one of them stops to say out loud, "How we gonna get down??"

Miss Em has no problem whatsoever keeping up with "boyz". Somebody needs to hurry up and buy that girl a Barbie dolly.

Yes, that's dirt smudged in her armpits. And she's packing woodchips in her pants, thankyouverymuch.

A nice break for fresh air and friendly faces. Tomorrow it is back to unpacking boxes, tackling laundry, hanging pictures, and moving the last bit of furniture in to place.
