Hayden, you are a PERFECT TEN in so many, many ways. We love you dearly and are so thankful for the wonderful qualities you bring to our family.
We headed up to the farm this morning to visit with Nana and Papa. It was a comedy of errors trying to get out the door, and I ended up leaving the camera at home in the midst of the confusion. Darn if I don't have pictures of the birthday boy "panning for gold" with Papa in the hot tub, blowing out the musical candle on his birthday cookie cake, and tooling around the farm on the golf cart. We had a great morning enjoying one another.
This afternoon our buddy "T" came over to join the festivities. The boys launched a mega Lego project in the living room.
Hayden chose egg pancakes for his birthday dinner. An egg pancake is a lot like a crepe, and it is a huge tradition for special occasions in my extended family. Hayden loves them as much as I did when I was his age.
Emma called up Brother to wish him a happy day. (She doesn't know how to text yet. Ha!)
Turning ten proved rather lucrative. A new catcher's helmet, some Nerf swords, a Lego set, and a back pack for next week's hikes in the Colorado mountains all generated much excitement.
You've given us lots to smile about over the last ten years, Hayden. Happy Birthday, Buddy!!

Happy b-day, Hayden! I knew it was coming up but didn't know just when.
And I think moms should always be appreciated on a child's birthday. After all, we did QUITE a bit of work to get them here. :>
I love that pic of Emma! Precious!
Happy Birthday Hayden!!! the big 10! What a big boy! Looks like he had a blast, with great gifts, a great family and a splendid egg pancake which I am longing to try.... so be sure when you have time to share that recipe!
