Sometimes I sneak Christmas presents from the chaos of Christmas morning, and I tuck them away to pull out at a later date. That way, the fun of new things gets extended. I've had a stellar project hidden in the closet for months now...Breyer paint your own dream horse kits. I pulled them out this morning and the boys set right to work. First, they studied horse guides to decide how they wanted the finished projects to look. Then, I shrouded the kitchen in vinyl and paper towels. Because I am lots of fun when it comes to art. Finally, the boys got lost in a sea of creativity, and as the minutes ticked by, their dream horses came to life.
I've had an old, tired sign in my side yard for the past few years. I like how it looks, but it is faded and worn, so I decided to pull it in and spruce it up while the boys worked. I just love pretending like I have all kinds of free time. (What laundry?) I chased tiny spiders and ants around the sign with my paintbrush. Here is a picture of what my sign looked like before the grand makeover, and the big "after" reveal in my little garden.
I have a friend who raises horses and she is expecting a foal any day now. I found out today that we can go visit her next week, and I'm already getting excited. The boys will flip when they see that baby horse!
