Hatchlings

Today was PB&J day at the farm. We shared our exciting news of yesterday's baby foal with Nana and Papa, and they shared some exciting news with us too. It seems a Mama bird took up residence in one of Nana's hanging flower baskets, and a clutch of babies has just hatched. As best we can tell, there are three babies in the nest. I did not see the Mom today, so I could not identify her, but this is a teeny tiny nest. I'm anxious to catch a glimpse of her so we can look her up in our field guides. The nest is perfect; a tightly gathered, petite little home. It's like a little teacup made of twigs! I must remember to ask God one day how He taught these birds to make such beautiful nests. :)
