My Dad and his wife are in town for Father's Day. We had a wonderful, relaxing evening together. The cable was out, which was fine, because it wasn't like my Dad (who lives on a golf course) was interested in the U.S. Open or anything. Tiger who?? Instead, he ponied up to the kitchen table like a good sport and challenged Hayden to a round of Phase 10. By Phase 8 we were all growing weary, so when Hayden rolled seven dice of the same color we all cheered wildly and declared him the winner. Besides, we weren't halfway through Phase 7 when we hit the bottom of the guacamole bowl and knew that it was time to move from appetizers to main course. (Phase 10 has been a long time favorite card game in our home. I recently found a dice version, which we like even better than the cards, and it is a wonderful and fun way to practice addition.) After dinner my favorite goggled goofs enjoyed a night swim, and we all ended the evening with hearty slices of angel food cake with pink icing. Not a bad way to kick off Father's Day. Tiger who?? Winning, you say?? We wouldn't know. The cable is out. :)
