Friday's Trip To the Pumpkin Patch

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, but I have ALWAYS loved a day at the pumpkin patch.
We have a huge one near our house that is really well done.  The people who own it started it several years ago to give LITTLE kids something really POSITIVE and NON-SCARY to enjoy at Halloween.  All the decorations and activities are geared toward younger children and everything is happy and friendly.  There is NOTHING spooky or scary.  That's my kind of patch!

I couldn't find any cute tee shirts this year, so I bought a sparkly iron on at the fabric store and put it on a black tee.  I found these funny knee socks at Target and thought they would make a goofy, fun outfit. You can see her mood before we left the house matched her socks.....goofy!  ;-)

I was super pleased that the boys agreed to come along.  They know my sentimental attachment to the great pumpkin patch, and they were good sports for making this family time.  Added bonus....they even wore orange for me!!!  It feels so good when they do things like that just to make me happy.

The pumpkin patch has DOZENS AND DOZENS of wooden cut outs for photos.  This year Duck Dynasty was the best display.  You just KNOW we loved that one!!!  We never miss an episode.  That show is family night in this house....big time!

I just love Miss Kay.  Her cooking and her love for animals....a girl after my own heart!

We took a hay ride, and the tractor stopped on the back side of the farm.  All the kids got out to pick a little pumpkin from the "mini patch" to take home with them.  She picked the one with the BEST stem. She instinctively knew how much that would please me.  Ha!
(All my pumpkins have to have perfect stems.  I know.........OCD.)

The hay maze was a challenge.  :-)

We had a super day.  I love this fall tradition.  I look forward to it every year.  When my kids are all grown they are still going to have to come visit me in the fall to pick pumpkins with me!

I remember you leaving me a comment about your family and the spacing between your children. It made me feel so good about our girls' age differences. I am so looking forward to the addition of our 3rd little girl in the next several weeks...I am hoping she will keep us young *Ü*

This pumpkin patch is amazing!!!
