Monday, Monday

You know it's going to be a long week when it starts off like this. Ha!

Buzzard and Hannah returned home last night from a four day ski trip. Three dads and three daughters took a trip to New Mexico, where the snow was gorgeous and the fellowship was fabulous. We were all excited to welcome them home, so everyone stayed up late last night eating brownie sundaes, listening to ski tales, and looking at photos and video. Sounds like they had an amazing time, and as soon as I transfer Hannah's photos to my computer I will post some pictures.

It is a joy and a relief to have my little fam assembled once again, but I have to say, I had a wonderful time enjoying the boys for a few days. We stayed up late, set our own schedule, ate fun foods, and took turns giving back scratches. They are fun people, and I was glad for the opportunity to slack off on a few things to make room for a whole bunch of nothing that turned into a very special something over the course of the weekend.

I let everyone sleep in a little later today since it is always hard to get back in the groove after a break. Ems took it easy this morning while I made cinnamon streusel muffins to lure the big kids downstairs, and tried my hardest to string together something that loosely resembled a game plan for the day. It was just one of those days when I felt like we needed to accomplish five hundred things, but I wasn't sure how to drag myself OR my over tired children over the starting line!
My Mom got Em a new Valentine outfit that she has been dragging around the house on a hanger for the past three days, so today I put a turtleneck under it and let her wear it. She was super proud of the "arts" on her shirt.

In the spirit of promoting the Thrifty Three agenda, I have been campaigning for homemade haircuts. One son finally gave in today. I have one who is still holding out on me, but I figure he'll have to give in soon or else figure out how to braid his flowing locks.

It wasn't entirely perfect, but I think my barber skills passed muster.

I have a little one who is having a really hard time going to bed tonight, so I'm wrapping this up to go read some Spot the Dog. It's a handy exit strategy, since I'm not really sure where to go from the pile of hair anyway. :)

When you resort to two photos of your bathroom floor for a blog post, you know it's been a MONDAY. All day.
