My New Sink Is In

I realize I'm probably hampering my potential to establish a media empire by my lag time here lately. Ha! I'm sure all two of you (Hi, Mom and Dad!) waiting on pins and needles for my latest news flashes will be relieved to know I'm back in the blogging saddle. I suppose life sometimes dictates an absence. The problem now is that I feel the great temptation to go back and recreate every single event of the past two weeks for your reading pleasure.

I shall resist. It's a moment in time when it's best to keep facing forward and marching to the beat. So, on we go.

We've had so much rain here lately that I'm tempted to trade my hardwoods in for some gopher wood. The kids started building this tent as a history project. It was intended to be a leaf hut for the Feast of Tabernacles, but it ended up being a blanket fort that occupied three kids for several hours on a rainy day. In other words, a priceless pile of blankets.

Papa has been in his wood shop working overtime on Operation Bathroom Vanity, and last week was the big delivery day. It is finished! And gorgeous!!

I tore a picture out of an old Southern Living magazine and showed it to Papa. He built the vanity out of old barn wood, delivered it to me, then spent two days helping Buzzard install it. I can't beat that! I may or may not have had a moment or two of doubt along the way...

Projects in this house have a way of growing big and ugly in no time. I'm not going to be the one to tattle and tell you that Buzz and his Dad spent more time at Home Depot than they did in my bathroom over that two day time span, but I do have something exciting to show for all their little shopping trips. Running water is a definite step in the right direction!

I'm working hard to put the finishing touches on my brand NEW, very OLD fashioned bathroom, and I can't wait to show you pictures.

One last thing....we are apparently desperate for some quality indoor entertainment here during monsoon season. Emma's favorite thing lately is to bring a blanket to the boys and get them to drag her through the house. I think she loves these new slippery floors as much as her Mom. :)

Ha! What an unexpected bonus with the wood floors - The Blanket Express! Too cute.

The sink looks fabulous! Love the fixture! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished room.

I agree Erin the sink looks really neat, the faucet is great. I have just installed a pretty neat Bathroom Sink Cabinet. So much fun doing renovations!
