Show and Tell Friday - Felt Easter Ornaments

I absolutely, positively can not sit still in a car for any length of time. Whenever we take car trips, I always plan something to work on so my hands and mind stay busy. It's actually a great excuse to do some handwork, which I really love but don't have much time for on a regular basis. I needed something quick and easy to pull together on our way out of town this week, so I just picked up some inexpensive felt squares from the craft store and grabbed my box of embroidery floss. I've seen lots of felt ornaments on etsy lately, and I just love them. They have a folk-art feel to them that I find charming and irresistible. So, I sketched out some rough patterns and made things up as I went along. My idea is to find a great branch that I can "plant" in an urn on my dining room table to hang these little ornaments from for my Easter centerpiece. I have a few more in the works, but here is what I completed on our trip.

These are fun, and quite addictive. I have several more ideas for patterns, so now I just need another car trip. :) Thanks for peeking at this week's show and tell. Kelli has lots more Show and Tell on her blog today.

I especially like the heart-shaped one with the cross as it truly reflects Easter.

How cute!! You did such nice work. I am looking for a different, simple idea to make flowers for the women at the rest home for Mothers Day. We usually have 50 to 60 and need low cost. Do you have any ideas?
