My brother in law owns this stunt kite. It is really cool, but not altogether easy to fly. We took it to the park the other day, and it took me several tries to get it in the sky. It was very nice of Brother to not flinch, wince, or cry when I repeatedly crashed his fragile kite into the ground. My ten year old son and eleven year old nephew became quick experts, and I didn't want them to show me up!
Thanks to Brother's patience, and one or five hundred pointers, I finally got the hang of it. I'm glad I stuck it out, because I learned that kite flying is the perfect way to spend a gorgeous day. This particular kite is big enough, and strong enough, to nearly support an adult. Once the kite is gliding smoothly above, you just lean your head back, relax your entire body, and allow the kite to hold you up while you stare into the clouds.
Of course, if you live out in the country with miles of wide open spaces and gorgeous sunsets, it really helps add to the experience. Lucky Brother.
The boys know how to do spins, dips, dives, and loopty-lous. I know how to get it to stay in the sky. :) I have yet to master a non-crash landing, but I don't mind casually mentioning that I do know how to keep it out of the trees. Not that anyone in my family left a stunt kite stranded high in a tree top at the farm or anything....
