Giving Thanks - Wednesday Edition

Giving Thanks

Giving Thanks - Sweet Treats

Kelli's blog is full of fun Thanksgiving ideas this week. Today I have a very simple idea to share. You can make a candy dish extra special for the holidays by making homemade candy wrappers. I recently ordered some Thanksgiving wrappers from a mail order catalog. They arrived in sheets, like address labels.

I just peeled them off and wrapped them around miniature candybars.

Oh, why yes. I forgot to mention. One of the best parts of this craft is having permission to go buy one of these bad boys!
Don't you think they would look cute sprinkled on the Thanksgiving table?
Nestled in a pretty little dish with a bow, they would make a sweet hostess gift.

I started to think how easy it would be to make my own wrappers, so I gathered up a few supplies I had left over from my Thankful banner. Each wrapper needs to measure 71/2 cm x 3 1/2 cm. They can be decorated with stickers, paper punches, or rubber stamps.

Some stickers just beg to be used!

I think this is a clever way to add a festive touch to a sweet treat!

Those wrappers are adorable! My daughter had them for my grandson's birthday party, but I haven't seen the ones for holidays!
