Doing Dollywood

Dollywood was quite impressive. I would love to go back at the holidays at some point, because I understand the Christmas shows and decorations are quite a sight. But a summertime visit was grand as well. Here are some of the things I enjoyed the most....

Kidfest...Each season there is a theme at Dollywood, and this summer the theme is Kidfest. The Kratt brothers (from the PBS show Zaboomafoo) were there with a special animal show. There was also an impressive sand sculpture exhibit.

The food...You can literally eat your way through the park, and although a meal is a serious financial commitment, the food is something to write home (or blog!) about. My Old Buzzard, he's kind of corny, but gosh I love him.

The rides....Buzzard and the kids can speak for them. I was the Official Stroller Attendant, which was fine by me. The loopty-loo wooden roller coaster pales in comparison to sitting in the shade and playing with the baby.

Family time...Sometimes there is nothing like getting away from home to remind my kids how much they really do like each other. There was very little sibling bickering, and even some sweet moments of brotherly and sisterly love. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
