Same Kind Of Different As Me
by Ron Hall and Denver Moore

Please, please read this book. Add it to your summer reading list. You'll be so glad you did. It is easily one of the best books I've ever devoured, and I want everyone around me to know the story. I recently read about a college who is giving a copy to every incoming freshman. The story is powerful, and the writing itself is flawless.

I learned about this book from my hairdresser, who worked herself into such a lather while telling me about it that I was darn near sure she was going to pluck me bald! That very night, I was handed a copy at my book club meeting. How ironic. This book was food for my soul.

I don't want to say too much, so I'll just mention that it is the story of a self-proclaimed nobody who is willing to tell anybody about somebody who can save everybody. Read it. And weep. Those tissues? They're not optional. You could be like me and forgo the tissues altogether in favor of a towel. An actual towel to wipe away the tidal wave of tears.

Oh, and one last thing. If you buy the paperback, there are pictures in the middle. Tempting as it is, don't look at the pictures until after you read the book, because they give away a major part of the story. Now I know you're tempted to read the book just so you can see those pictures. For some strange reason, the hardbacks don't have pictures, so go with the softcover.

Come back and leave me a comment to tell me what you think if you read it.

Oh, a Christian bookstore near me is hosting a book club for this book, and I thought about joining. Now I think I will. Thanks for the recommendation.

Oh, and I empathize with you on clean kitchen counters. For me, it's a clean dining room table. My counters are piled high with clutter. But they're hidden behind a wall. Lol.
