Today was homeschool day at the amusement park. Traditionally, my husband has taken off work to do roller coaster duty with the kids on this momentous occasion. Since I only like rides that start with "merry" and end in "go-round", I usually volunteer to hold things down around home. By that, I mean I look forward to holding the couch down all day while I sit in it with a good book and a pink lemonade. But this year was different. Hubby moved into a new office today, so he wasn't able to take off work. Hannah was invited to the park with some friends, so I was under the gun to come up with a consolation plan for the boys. I decided our day needed a theme, so we set out to celebrate "Boys Are Cool" day. We started off at the ice rink for skating. At first they did a "wall crawl", but bravery soon set in and they quickly got the hang of it. By the end of our session they were spending proportionately more time gliding on the ice than warming it with their behinds, which was great. We ended our freeze fest at the frozen custard shop, where the custard is delicious but the prices can make you lose your cool. I had some handy coupons, so we all ordered something indulgent and enjoyed every last bite.
And this little one? The two toothed speed skating cheering section? Well, she's so cool she could just drool. :)
