Last night we had horrible storms with lots of hail and we lost our power. I didn't sleep too well, so I overslept a bit this morning and was running late, right off the bat. I dropped my son off at tutoring and ran by the gas station because I was running on empty. They had run out of my beverage of choice, so I settled for a hot chocolate, but the nozzle on the machine was crooked and it sprayed my hand and ran down my arm. Ouch. Rain and a stain before 9 a.m. means the rest of the day just might turn out to be a royal pain. Indeed, school was pure drudgery today. We didn't know our run-ons from our fragments, and our math lesson ran long because we couldn't grasp the content. Somewhere amid the fifty interruptions to our day, the toilet ran over. Big time. Run! Get towels! Run! Turn off the water! By that point, I was running out of patience.
The boys took a break with Playmobil while I graded their work today. They called me in to see their creation. "Mom! We're running a zoo!" Trust me, Honey, I know exactly how you feel.
Lucky for us all, the sun did make a brief appearance this afternoon. The boys got out for a few minutes to run with butterfly nets, and I ran into a sweet neighbor and had a quick chat.
More storms are in the forecast, and I don't quite have the bathroom put back together, but it's all good. I'm running a hot bath, then calling it a day.
